Big 6 Research Method

1.1. Define the problem

1.2 Identify the information requirements

1.1 Define the problem on your Big 6 sheet

(front) (back)

1.2 Answer your author question sheet

(PDF of author question sheet)

Fill out both the Big 6 sheet AND the author question sheet.

Both sheets are due FRIDAY April 26, at the end of class.

The Works Cited page is due MONDAY APRIL 29.

2.1 Determine kinds of sources

2.2 Prioritize sources

From our class discussion, we know that the database is the most likely source of information on the author. However, some people may use the book jacket or a website, as needed.

We are prioritizing the database.

3.1 Locate actual resources

3.2 Locate information

Database:

: Teaching Books.net

Book: Jacket of book

Web: If Mrs. Albicelli has given her permission for you to use Google, make sure you are using a credible website. Prioritize the author's own website or the website of the publisher of the book.

4.1 Engage (read, view, interview)

4.2 Extract (make notes)

Fill out your author question sheet as notes for this project.
